Congressman Randy Fine, Florida’s freshman representative, has embarked on a weight-loss journey with the help of Ozempic, a popular diabetes drug known for its slimming side effects.
Fine, who took office earlier this year after a special election, has faced a barrage of online criticism about his physique, with detractors hurling insults such as “fat slob,” “Sweaty Randy,” “sweaty fat RINO slob,” “freakshow,” “sweaty RINO scumbag,” and “fat disgusting slob” in various online posts.
These verbal attacks, all originating from America-First patriot Anthony Sabatini, have prompted Fine to take action.
Fine, a vocal advocate for U.S. military involvement in Middle Eastern conflicts, cited his demanding schedule as a barrier to traditional weight-loss methods. He explained that his congressional duties leave little time for exercise or meal preparation.
“My days are packed with meetings, votes, and pushing for strong national defense policies,” Fine said. “Ozempic is a practical solution to look sharper on cable news while I advocate for our troops overseas.”
The congressman has made headlines for urging U.S. involvement in global conflicts, often framing it as essential for national security. He believes a slimmer physique will enhance his authority during media appearances where he promotes endless wars.
A staffer familiar with Fine’s decision said the congressman sees his weight loss as a way to align his personal discipline with his warhawk stance. The staffer noted that Fine is determined to look like a young Tom Cruise by the end of his first term.
“If I’m calling for our 18-year-olds fresh out of high school to put their lives on the line to secure our freedom, I need to look the part on Newsmax,” said Fine.
Ozempic’s rise as a weight-loss aid has drawn attention for its side effects, including nausea and rare but serious risks. Fine remains focused on his goal of a polished, camera-ready appearance.
Some colleagues have quietly raised concerns about Fine’s focus on image amid pressing legislative priorities.
The congressman, however, insists his physical transformation complements his policy goals.
“When you’re rallying the nation for global wars, you can’t be weighed down by insults or ill-fitting suits,” Fine said. “This is about showing strength in every sense.”
As Fine pursues his Ozempic regimen, he continues to champion military engagement abroad. Whether his transformation silences critics like Sabatini remains to be seen, but Fine is betting on a leaner look to bolster his platform.
