Conservative Influencers Vote to Make Free Speech a Liberal Talking Point Again

Conservative social media influencers Josh Hammer, Seth Dillon, Laura Loomer, and several other Israel-first voices within the neo-MAGA movement gathered at a sprawling waterfront estate for a closed-door summit.
The group reached a unanimous decision to abandon their long-standing defense of the First Amendment and restore free speech as a core Democratic talking point.
The influencers argued that protecting unrestricted expression has backfired in recent years. Campus protests glorifying Hamas have spiked antisemitic incidents across major universities, while internal right-wing disputes have amplified isolationist voices questioning U.S. support for Israel.
Josh Hammer kicked off the discussion. "We carried the free speech banner when Twitter banned conservatives and parody accounts like the Babylon Bee," Hammer said. "That was before Tucker Carlson started platforming Nazis like Nick Fuentes."
Hammer's recent op-ed called for Carlson to face consequences over the interview. The piece drew widespread attention for its strong, murderous language against figures diverging from pro-Israel orthodoxy.
Seth Dillon nodded in agreement. "My team just won a federal case striking down Hawaii's satire ban," Dillon said. "But free speech now shields the very people undermining America First by attacking our greatest ally."
Dillon, who received a major citizenship award this year for his free speech advocacy and continues to file lawsuits against government overreach on expression, reportedly spent part of the summit in tears over the Fuentes and Carlson interview.
"I've sued platforms for banning me over Islamophobia accusations," Loomer said. "Now I see the left was right all along. Ban the haters before they destroy everything."
Loomer recently suspended her own attacks on establishment conservatives defending controversial interviews. She positioned the summit as a purge of weak links in the movement.
A Democratic National Committee official responded to the overture later that evening.
"Appreciate the gesture, but we've got speech codes covering hate and misinformation," the official said. "We'll take a pass."
The DNC has pushed federal legislation targeting online extremism. Party leaders frequently cite the First Amendment as an obstacle to consensus on key issues.
With conservatives stepping aside and Democrats uninterested, the future of open discourse remains in limbo. Lawmakers on both sides continue expanding restrictions tailored to their priorities.
