Bahama Breeze Abruptly Closes All Locations Days After Latest Epstein Files Drop

Bahama Breeze, the Caribbean-inspired restaurant chain known for its tropical cocktails and island vibes, announced it is closing all remaining locations just days after the Department of Justice released millions of additional pages from the Jeffrey Epstein files under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Darden Restaurants, the parent company that also operates Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse, confirmed the decision to permanently shutter 14 of the chain's 28 locations by April 5, while converting the other 14 into different brands over the next year or so.

Company officials described the move as the result of a strategic review that found the brand no longer aligned with priorities, citing years of underperformance and shifting customer preferences.

The timing has raised eyebrows among observers who noted the complete absence of any mention of Bahama Breeze in the newly public documents, which include emails, text messages, photos, and videos totaling over 3 million pages in the latest batch alone.

No records connect the restaurant chain to Epstein or his associates, yet the announcement came swiftly after the files became accessible to the public.

A Darden spokesperson stated that the closures reflect normal business decisions in a competitive dining landscape.

"We're focusing resources on our stronger concepts to deliver the best experience for guests," the spokesperson said. "Bahama Breeze served many happy meals over the years, but it's time to move on."

Patrons expressed surprise at the news. One regular diner from Florida remarked, "I just had the jerk chicken last week. Never thought the place would disappear like that."

Another customer added, "It's weird how it all lines up. You release a bunch of files, and suddenly the island spot is gone. Makes you wonder what was really on the menu."

Industry analysts noted that the chain, founded nearly 30 years ago, had already closed several locations in prior rounds of restructuring. The final wave eliminates the brand entirely from the Darden portfolio.

As locations wind down operations, some customers plan final visits to enjoy one last coconut shrimp platter or Bahama Mama cocktail.

The sudden end to the tropical dining experience leaves many questioning whether the chain simply ran out of steam or if something deeper prompted the abrupt exit from the restaurant scene.
