Dinesh D’Souza has been seen skulking around a rural farm, camera in hand, sparking talk that he might be producing a documentary — or plotting something creepier.
Locals say he appeared at the edge of cornfields, peering into barns and clicking pictures of livestock and farmers.
One eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity said, “I saw him standing just past the fence line, camera pointed toward the barn. He seemed like he was waiting for something to happen.”
A second witness, the farm’s owner, told our team the behavior was weird and creepy.
“He was crouched behind a stack of hay bales, trying to stay hidden,” the owner said. “I walked out to confront him, and he called me antisemitic and left.”
"He's probably digging into how these places are breeding the next generation of purple-haired hippies, turning good old beef into something that votes blue," chuckled Earl Watkins, a neighboring rancher who sells hay to the dairy and follows D'Souza's feeds religiously.
Watkins leaned on his truck, recounting how the filmmaker once drove past his spread without stopping, but this time lingered like he owned the pasture.
It is unclear what D’Souza’s agenda might be. Some propose he is crafting a film about corruption in agribusiness or the machinations of industrial food supply chains.
Others think D'Souza has a personal fascination with farm animals and was at the farm for recreational purposes.
Despite being contacted, D’Souza has not issued any comment or explanation. His public silence fuels further speculation over what might lie behind his presence on that land.
“We’re used to drones, government agents hiding in fields, but a little weirdo sneaking around with a camera steps into a different territory,” said the owner.
Concerns have been raised about the safety of animals and farmers with creeps like D'Souza lurking around.
At the time of writing, no law enforcement report has confirmed charges or identified D’Souza’s precise motive.
