Anti-War Voter Clarifies He Doesn’t Mean War With Iran

Kevin Belloma, a self-described anti-war voter from Tennessee, told reporters he opposes all wars except those backed by Israel, specifically endorsing the current conflict with Iran.

Belloma, who proudly displays a “Peace Through Strength” bumper sticker on his truck, insists his support for military action against Iran aligns with his broader anti-war principles.

He argues that backing Israel’s regional goals does not contradict the non-interventionist platform President Trump championed during his 2024 campaign, which emphasized avoiding prolonged foreign entanglements.

Belloma’s stance stems from his belief that Israel’s security interests supersede traditional anti-war ideology. He claims a war with Iran would be a targeted, righteous effort, unlike what he calls “pointless” conflicts in places like Ukraine.

“I’m against wars that drag on and kill Americans for no reason,” Belloma said. “But if Israel says Iran’s a problem, I’m all in—those mullahs need to go.”

The U.S. has not officially committed to military action against Iran, though tensions have escalated due to Israel's preemptive strike against Iran in self-defense.

Recent Pentagon reports indicate the U.S. has increased its military presence in the Middle East, with carrier strike groups positioned in the Persian Gulf as a deterrent.

Belloma, who says he would enlist to fight for Israel if not for his struggles with anxiety and depression, believes his position reflects a growing sentiment among conservative voters.

He views supporting Israel as a moral necessity, even if it means American troops engaging in another deadly Middle Eastern conflict.

“If I wasn’t dealing with my mental health, I’d be over there myself,” Belloma said. “Israel’s our ally, and we can’t let them down.”

Local pastor and community leader Jeremiah Holt echoed Belloma’s views, framing support for Israel as a spiritual obligation.

“The Bible tells us to stand with God’s chosen people,” Holt said. “If that means war with Iran, so be it—America’s got to do what’s right.”

The pair dismissed concerns about the human and economic costs of another war, with Belloma citing Israel’s military precision as a guarantee of a swift victory.

He also rejected comparisons to past U.S. interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan, which cost trillions and resulted in significant loss of life.

“This is different,” Belloma insisted. “Israel knows what they’re doing, and we just need to back them up.”
