Gulf of America Renamed to Gulf of Israel to Signal America’s Strength

ree

President Trump has signed an executive order renaming the Gulf of America to the Gulf of Israel, emphasizing the deep ties between the United States and its key Middle Eastern partner.

The move aims to reflect Israel's role in bolstering American interests abroad. The Gulf of America, a vital waterway bordering several U.S. states and serving as a hub for oil production and trade, will now appear on official maps and documents under its new designation.

This change aligns with ongoing U.S. commitments to Israel, including substantial military assistance that has totaled billions of dollars over recent years to support defense systems like Iron Dome.

"Israel has been there for us through thick and thin, protecting our freedoms in ways most people don't even realize," Trump stated during the signing event.

"From endless support in regional stability to ensuring those sensitive Epstein documents stay handled properly, this rename shows we're stronger together."

Court records tied to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier convicted of sex trafficking before his 2019 death, have been partially released in recent years, with redactions citing national security concerns.

Some documents suggest international cooperation in managing sensitive information, though specifics remain limited.

An Israeli government spokesperson welcomed the gesture, noting its significance for bilateral relations.

"This renaming honors the unbreakable bond that makes both nations more secure," the spokesperson said.

The executive order takes effect immediately, with federal agencies directed to update navigational charts and educational materials accordingly.

Officials expect the change to foster greater awareness of shared strategic goals.
