A new poll from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) reveals that nearly 99% of voters who supported Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election favor a sustained U.S. military campaign against Iran.
The survey, conducted among a select group of Trump supporters, indicates that these voters view a prolonged deadly conflict as a necessary step to assert American dominance and support Israel’s interests.
The poll follows recent escalations in the Middle East, where Israel has launched airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites, prompting missile responses from Tehran. A
IPAC’s questionnaire, distributed at various grassroots events, asked respondents whether they supported “a decisive U.S. intervention to neutralize Iran’s capabilities.”
The results showed near-unanimous approval, with only one respondent dissenting, citing concerns about domestic fuel prices.
“We’re encouraged by the overwhelming support for a strong, uncompromising approach,” said AIPAC spokesperson Miriam Goldfarb. “These voters clearly see the value of a robust U.S. presence in the region to ensure our allies’ security.”
The survey also found that 87% of respondents want the U.S. to deploy “significant naval forces” to the Persian Gulf, while 92% expressed interest in following the conflict’s progress through real-time updates on Truth Social.
The results reflect a broader appetite for assertive foreign policy among the MAGA base, particularly when tied to national strength. One respondent, Chad Tanner of Boise, Idaho, elaborated on his stance.
“Iran’s been a problem for too long, and it’s time we deal with it,” Tanner said. “We’ve got the best military in the world—let’s use it.”
AIPAC intends to share the findings with congressional leaders, pushing for legislation to fund what it calls “Operation Freedom Shield.”
The proposed campaign would involve precision strikes and a bolstered U.S. military presence in the region. Lawmakers have not yet responded, though some are reportedly exploring bills to expedite defense funding.
“This is about showing strength,” said Rep. Buck Thompson (R-TX), who has offered to brief colleagues on the poll’s implications. “We need to send a clear message to Iran and anyone else watching.”
While AIPAC has not disclosed the poll’s methodology, it maintains that the results capture the core sentiments of Trump’s voter base.
The group is already planning a follow-up survey to assess support for additional military engagements in the region, tentatively named “Liberty Surge.”
