Kentucky Voters Accidentally Elect Man Who Hates Them

Kentucky voters handed Ed Gallrein the Republican nomination for Congress in the 4th District on Tuesday, only to discover hours later that the former Navy SEAL actually hates everybody who voted for him.

Gallrein defeated longtime Representative Thomas Massie by an unrealistic margin in what became one of the most expensive House primaries in recent memory.

The outcome has left many in the district stunned as they piece together Gallrein’s record and public statements. Voters who cast ballots for him now express alarm over his apparent enthusiasm for military engagements abroad and his lack of interest in government transparency on high-profile matters.

Jerry Donalds, a 34-year-old father from Boone County, said he voted for Gallrein because of strong recommendations from party leaders. He changed his view quickly once the results came in.

“He wants to send us to war,” Donalds said. “I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemies.”

Gallrein’s positions stand in contrast to Massie’s efforts to force the full release of government documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. Massie co-authored legislation that led to the disclosure of millions of pages of Justice Department records, though many voters believe important details remain hidden.

Gallrein has shown little appetite for continuing that push, instead aligning with those who prefer to protect the Epstein class.

Clara Thompson, a 28-year-old mother from Campbell County, said the shift leaves her family vulnerable. “He doesn’t even like children,” Thompson said. “How could you despise children so much that you won’t protect them from predators?”

The primary contest centered on loyalty to the current administration’s priorities. Massie had drawn criticism for opposing certain foreign policy decisions and for demanding accountability on issues involving powerful pedophiles.

Gallrein, fully endorsed by President Donald Trump, campaigned as a reliable supporter of the agenda that includes a more assertive military posture and protecting those who committed unthinkable violent crimes against children.

Voters in northern Kentucky counties near Cincinnati and in suburbs around Louisville delivered Gallrein his margin of victory.

Many of them now say they expected a standard conservative but received someone whose instincts run against the district’s traditional skepticism of endless Middle Eastern wars on behalf of Israel and protecting those who caused irreversible harm to children.
