A hall monitor at Zion Elementary School has become the target of relentless name-calling and outright disobedience after delivering a musical performance that directly insulted the school's most popular students.
Ben Boreing, entrusted with maintaining order in the hallways, took the stage at the annual talent show to sing a number that singled out individuals, including the football team's quarterback and the head cheerleader. The lyrics included pointed jabs at their appearances, athletic abilities, and social status.
Students responded immediately by ignoring Boreing's commands to walk quietly or stay in line. Groups of children now openly mock him in the corridors, calling him names and refusing to acknowledge his authority.
"These people need to be removed from this school immediately," Boreing said. "Their dislike of me in brain rot."
The quarterback, a fifth-grader known for leading the team to several playground victories, explained that Boreign is known for abusing his power as hall monitor.
"He thinks he's better for us," the quarterback said. "But honestly, nobody at this school likes him. We're just forced to be nice to him."
School officials have noted a complete breakdown in hallway discipline since the performance. Teachers report that students no longer respond to Boreing's whistle or raised voice, leading to chaos during class changes.
"He thinks we owe him respect because he was chosen as hall monitor," the head cheerleader added.
Boreing has attempted to resume his duties but finds himself isolated as children scatter or laugh when he approaches.
The once-respected position of hall monitor now carries little weight among the student body.
