Sources familiar with the matter, including those allegedly connected to Johnson's extended family, indicate that the Louisiana Republican has expressed interest in Little St. James, the private island once owned by financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The property, located in the U.S. Virgin Islands, gained notoriety for its association with Epstein's criminal activities, which involved sex trafficking and exploitation of minors before his death in 2019.

The island itself features luxurious accommodations, including a main residence, guest villas, and a distinctive temple-like structure amid lush tropical surroundings. The resort development aims to erase the island's tainted past by emphasizing eco-friendly tourism and exclusive amenities.
