Ted Cruz Plans to Tackle $38 Trillion Debt with Billions More to Israel

Senator Ted Cruz announced a bold new initiative Tuesday to confront the nation's staggering $38 trillion debt, proposing an immediate infusion of additional billions in aid to Israel as the key to unlocking fiscal salvation.
The Texas Republican, drawing on ancient scriptural promises, argued that ramping up financial support for Israel's military operations in the Middle East would trigger a reciprocal blessing capable of erasing the ballooning federal shortfall.
Cruz's proposal comes amid ongoing U.S. commitments, including the $21.7 billion in military assistance already dispatched to Israel since late 2023, much of it funneled through emergency supplemental packages to bolster defenses against alleged regional threats.
The senator detailed his vision during a Capitol Hill briefing, where he described the plan as a straightforward application of divine economics.
"I've always believed in the principle laid out in Genesis: those who bless Israel will be blessed in return," Cruz stated.
"We've seen it work before—look at how our investments there have strengthened alliances and deterred adversaries. Now, with the debt clock ticking past $38 trillion, it's time to double down and let that blessing flow back to balance the books."
That blessing, according to Cruz, manifested itself in a vivid dream sequence that crystallized the strategy for him. He recounted waking in the middle of the night to the apparition of a bearded figure who bore a striking resemblance to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, complete with a yarmulke and a scroll unfurled to the exact verse in question.
The figure urged Cruz to view U.S. Treasury transfers not as expenditures but as seeds planted in fertile ground, promising a harvest of prosperity that would outpace even the most aggressive tax cuts or spending freezes.
Netanyahu, reached for comment at his Jerusalem office, endorsed the senator's approach without reservation. "America's generosity has been our shield in turbulent times, from the Iron Dome intercepts to the precision munitions that keep our skies clear," the prime minister said.
"If Senator Cruz sees fit to expand that partnership, we stand ready to receive it—and to ensure the returns are as bountiful as the promise itself."
Cruz's office has already drafted legislation to authorize another $10 billion package, earmarked for advanced weaponry and border fortifications, to be layered atop the $8 billion arms deal greenlit earlier this year.
Economists note that the national debt has surged by trillions over the past two years alone, driven by pandemic relief, infrastructure outlays, outrageous foreign funding that does nothing to advance American interests, and escalating interest payments that now exceed defense spending.
Yet the senator remains undeterred, insisting that conventional measures like entitlement reforms or revenue hikes pale in comparison to the supernatural leverage of geopolitical fidelity.
