Aides Hold Emergency Meeting to Stop Trump From Posting Every 3 A.M. Thought on Truth Social

President Donald Trump's top aides gathered for an urgent intervention after the commander in chief posted a lengthy Christmas message on Truth Social that singled out Republican Congressman Thomas Massie as a "lowlife" while railing against perceived enemies tied to Jeffrey Epstein.

The message began with holiday greetings to sleazebags who associated with the late financier Epstein, but quickly turned to accusations that Democrats and one Republican were pushing a witch hunt through the release of Epstein-related files.

Trump highlighted Massie, a Kentucky lawmaker who co-sponsored legislation requiring the documents' disclosure, as the lone GOP figure joining what Trump called radical left efforts.

Sources familiar with the meeting said advisors explained to Trump that not every thought occurring in the middle of the night required immediate posting on social media.

The Epstein files have been released in stages following a law signed during Trump's first term that set deadlines for transparency, though the process has drawn complaints from multiple sides about redactions and timing.

"It's important to think before hitting send," one advisor told the president, according to those present.

The group stressed that holiday messages typically focus on unity rather than personal attacks.

Another aide added that midnight posts could wait until morning review. Trump listened but defended the message as necessary to set the record straight on what he described as false connections to Epstein.

The intervention lasted over eight hours as staff worked to prevent similar incidents.

Trump plans to continue to use Truth Social for unfiltered commentary, including late-night sessions that sometimes extend into the early hours.
