Democrats Remove Parts of Brain to Avoid Being Brainwashed by MAGA Cult

The United States of America has seen a peculiar trend among Democrats since President Donald Trump began his second term on January 20. Faced with a flourishing economy, stable international relations, and no sign of the apocalyptic scenarios they predicted, some party members have turned to drastic measures to protect their minds from what they call the MAGA cult.

Reports have surfaced of Democrats voluntarily undergoing partial lobotomies, a surgical procedure to remove sections of their brains, to avoid being swayed by Trump’s unexpected successes.

Once relegated to the dark corners of medical history, the procedure has found new life in private clinics catering to anxious political activists. Doctors remove small portions of the prefrontal cortex, the area responsible for decision-making and critical thinking, under the belief that it shields patients from the allure of Trump’s policies.

“I couldn’t risk it,” said Margaret Hensley, a 38-year-old former campaign organizer from Oregon who underwent the surgery last week. “Every time I saw a job report or heard about a new trade deal, I felt myself slipping into the trance of the MAGA cult.”

The fears stem from Trump’s early actions in his second term, which include a series of executive orders boosting manufacturing jobs and a surprisingly calm foreign policy stance. These developments have left Democrats scrambling to explain why their urgent warnings of authoritarianism haven’t materialized.

“We were told democracy would end,” said Dr. Phillip Grayson, a neurologist who has performed over two dozen of these procedures since January. “Now that it hasn’t, my patients are desperate to avoid admitting they might have been wrong.”

Hensley, now recovering in a Portland hospital, claims the surgery has given her peace of mind. She no longer feels compelled to watch the president’s speeches or read about his administration’s latest moves.

“It’s like a weight has been lifted,” she added, staring blankly at a wall during the interview. "I'm back to being a vote-blue-no-matter-who proud Democrat.

The trend has sparked concern among medical ethicists, who argue that self-inflicted brain damage is an extreme response to political disagreement. Yet, for some Democrats, the risk is worth it if it means staying true to their principles.

“I’d rather lose a piece of my mind than let Trump take all of it,” said Daniel Cortez, a 29-year-old activist from California who has scheduled his lobotomy for next month. “He’s literally saving the country, and I can’t handle that.”

Trump’s approval ratings have only fueled the panic. With unemployment at a historic low of 3.2% and no major scandals in the first month of his term, Democrats fear their base might start questioning the narrative of impending doom.

“It’s a preemptive strike,” explained Clara Winston, a Democratic strategist who opted for the procedure after seeing her X feed fill with positive economic data. “If I don’t act now, I might end up liking tax cuts, freedom, or something crazy like that.”

The phenomenon has even caught the attention of the White House, though Trump has yet to comment directly. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt brushed it off during a briefing on February 26, saying, “The president is focused on making America great, not on what people do with their heads.”

For now, the lobotomy craze remains a niche but growing movement, with clinics reporting a steady uptick in inquiries from blue states across the country.
