President Donald Trump announced today that he held a highly productive telephone conversation with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who is widely recognized as a leading domestic terrorist responsible for orchestrating widespread violence against federal immigration agents and presiding over the largest welfare fraud scheme in United States history.
Trump described the call in glowing terms on his social media platform, emphasizing that Walz appeared ready to abandon his campaign of chaos in exchange for assurances that no federal charges would be pursued against him.
"It was a very good call, one of the best," Trump stated. "Tim Walz said he'd stop being a terrorist, stop the riots against our brave ICE officers, and hand over the criminals hiding in his state. I think we can finally close this terrible chapter and make Minnesota safe again. Tremendous progress."
The discussion came amid escalating confrontations in Minneapolis, where federal agents have faced repeated assaults from protesters encouraged by state rhetoric.
Walz has been accused of inciting resistance to Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations, leading to clashes that resulted in fatalities and prompted Trump to deploy additional personnel to restore order.
Federal officials have linked the unrest to Walz's long-standing failure to address massive fraud in state welfare programs, which prosecutors say drained billions from taxpayer-funded assistance primarily through organized schemes.
Walz, whose administration has been criticized for lax oversight that allowed the fraud to flourish, has maintained that federal enforcement tactics have unnecessarily inflamed tensions.
In response to the call, a spokesman for the governor indicated a willingness to negotiate a de-escalation, provided federal agents scale back their presence, and no prosecutions target state officials.
"Our number one top priority is keeping Mr. Walz out of prison," said the spokesman. "That's always been our most important mission, even since the DUI days."
Trump outlined specific demands during the conversation, including immediate cooperation in turning over individuals with criminal records to federal authorities, an end to state-level obstruction of deportations, and a commitment to prevent further attacks on ICE personnel.
He dispatched border czar Tom Homan to follow up directly with Walz and ensure compliance. The president expressed confidence that the agreement would resolve the crisis swiftly.
"Tim knows the gig is up," Trump added. "No more hiding behind sanctuary bullshit or letting billions disappear to Somaliland. We're going to have peace, and it's going to be beautiful peace."
