Mark Zuckerberg, the tech titan behind Meta, is reportedly making a bold play to become President Donald Trump’s new best friend following a dramatic fallout between Trump and Elon Musk.
The rift between the president and the Tesla CEO exploded after Musk publicly challenged Trump’s signature legislation, the Big, Beautiful Bill, and claimed that Trump’s name appears in the suspiciously unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files.
Sources close to Zuckerberg reveal he’s been firing off memes and lighthearted messages to Trump, aiming to lift the president’s spirits during the messy public spat.
“Mark sees an opening here,” one insider confided. “He’s been sending Trump funny videos and vintage MAGA memes, hoping to win him over and fill the void left by Musk.”
The feud between Trump and Musk reached a boiling point when the Tesla boss took to X, his own platform, to question the administration’s delay in releasing documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender who died in 2019.
Zuckerberg, meanwhile, is positioning himself as a loyal ally, ready to step into Musk’s shoes. “I just want to bring some positivity back to the White House,” Zuckerberg told a small group of reporters outside Meta’s headquarters.
“The president deserves a best friend who understands the power of a good laugh and won't throw him under the bus.”
Trump has yet to publicly respond to Zuckerberg’s outreach, but aides say the president has been spotted chuckling at his phone during late-night meetings.
The Meta CEO’s strategy appears to be a calculated pivot, as he’s also expressed interest in shaping Trump’s tech policies, a role Musk once held informally before his abrupt departure from an advisory position.
Critics, however, question Zuckerberg’s motives, noting his past clashes with conservative figures over content moderation on Meta’s platforms.
“Mark’s trying to play both sides,” said a GOP strategist familiar with the situation. “He’s sending memes to Trump while quietly tweaking algorithms to keep the progressive crowd happy.”
As the dust settles from the Trump-Musk clash, Zuckerberg’s bid to become the president’s new best friend has raised eyebrows across Washington and Silicon Valley.
The Epstein files, still partially unreleased, remain a flashpoint, with Democrats and some Republicans calling for full transparency.
For now, Zuckerberg’s meme offensive continues, and only time will tell if he can secure the coveted spot at Trump’s side.
