Democrat leadership has reportedly shifted its focus away from upcoming elections to prioritize the final draft of what insiders are calling the “American Accountability Index,” though multiple sources within the party privately refer to it as a “hit list.”
According to senior aides, the list is intended to “ensure accountability” for conservatives who have expressed “unacceptable opinions” over the last several years. One staffer, speaking anonymously, said the project has consumed most of the Democratic National Committee’s time and resources.
“Elections come and go,” the aide explained. “But ensuring the complete social, financial, and legal elimination of dissent lasts forever. We’re looking for lasting change.”
The effort is being spearheaded by a coalition of Democrat officials and activist consultants known as the Council of Radicals.
While the Council is recognized as a moderate faction of the party, its internal memos reportedly call for “neutralizing” a wide range of individuals—from podcasters and small-town school board members to social media users who “liked the wrong post.”
After weeks of closed-door meetings, the Council still hasn’t agreed on how to rank targets. Some argue for prioritizing “high-profile influencers,” while others insist that “local troublemakers” pose a greater long-term risk to social harmony.
Council Chairwoman Dana Kepler said the process has been “emotionally exhausting but necessary.”
She explained, “We’ve had heated debates over whether to go after people who simply voted Republican or those who went further by questioning election results, vaccine mandates, or gender curriculum. It’s about balancing justice with compassion.”
Former White House resident Joe Biden is said to have given his “full confidence” to the Council but requested that the final list “keep things civil, like a drone strike—efficient and not too messy.”
A few more radical members reportedly proposed expanding the list to include libertarians and independent journalists. That suggestion was met with broad approval after a brief discussion about “how dangerous free thought can be when left unchecked.”
One mid-level staffer described team meetings as “like Santa’s workshop, except instead of toys, we’re deciding whose lives to take.”
Party officials expect to unveil the finalized list by the end of the week, though it remains unclear whether public disclosure will happen before or after the Justice Department begins its implementation phase.
Several members have reportedly suggested unveiling the names during a nationally televised “Unity Gala.”
The project has already received quiet support from several major corporations, social media platforms, and academic institutions, all of which have expressed enthusiasm for streamlining digital cooperation.
One tech executive reportedly summarized the collaboration by saying, “It’s easier to protect democracy when everyone agrees on what it means.”
