BlueSky User Accidentally Swats Himself, Calls for Justice Online

Writer: Chadwick DolgosChadwick Dolgos

A BlueSky user named Jessie Smollet found himself in hot water this week after an attempt to swat InfoWars host Alex Jones went awry.

Smollet, a vocal Democrat known for his fiery online rants about the impact of climate change on the transgender Hispanic community, accidentally reported his own address to authorities, leading to a swift police response at his doorstep.

The incident unfolded late Wednesday night when Smollet, apparently incensed by Jones’ latest broadcast, dialed 911 with what he thought was a clever plan. Instead of targeting the controversial media figure, Smollet’s call directed a SWAT team to his own apartment in suburban Chicago.

Officers arrived, guns drawn, only to find a bewildered Smollet insisting he was the victim of a conspiracy. After a tense interrogation, police determined the call was a hoax originating from Smollet’s own phone, and he was promptly arrested for filing a false report.

“I demand justice,” Smollet posted on BlueSky shortly after his release on bail Wednesday morning. “This was an accident, and the police overreacted because they’re in bed with the MAGA crowd.”

Authorities were not amused by Smollet’s excuse. The Chicago Police Department issued a statement noting that false emergency calls waste resources and endanger lives.

Smollet’s online followers rallied to his defense, flooding BlueSky with hashtags like #FreeJessie and #JusticeForSmollet.

“This is a travesty,” said Amanda Krieger, a fellow BlueSky user and progressive influencer. “Jessie was just trying to hold a dangerous man accountable, and now he’s the one suffering.”

Jones, for his part, addressed the incident on his Thursday show, calling it “a desperate move by the radical left.” Legal experts say Smollet could face up to a year in jail if convicted, a prospect that has only fueled his online crusade.

“I won’t be silenced,” Smollet declared in a follow-up post, alongside a selfie of himself in handcuffs. “The real crime is letting people like Alex Jones roam free while I’m persecuted.”
