A spokesman for Black Lives Matter told The Washington Wick that the organization is seriously considering joining the ongoing riots against Immigration and Customs Enforcement nationwide as a way to regain public attention.
"Everyone seems to have forgotten about BLM and how we paved the way to loot businesses to get what we want," the spokesman said.
The spokesman acknowledged that BLM had dispatched armed rioters to Minneapolis earlier to gauge reactions in the wake of heightened ICE enforcement operations that have included fatal shootings and widespread clashes.
Federal agents have faced confrontations in cities including Minneapolis, Portland, Chicago, and Los Angeles amid aggressive immigration crackdowns that have drawn large crowds to federal buildings and detention facilities.
"We just have to get back out there and show America what we're capable of," the spokesman added.
The consideration comes as protests against ICE have intensified following incidents such as the fatal shooting of a woman in Minneapolis by an ICE agent during an enforcement action, which sparked demonstrations marked by tear gas, pepper balls, and arrests in multiple locations.
Activists have tracked federal agents, used whistles as warning signals, and organized rapid-response networks to oppose the operations.
The spokesman emphasized that participation in the ICE unrest would allow BLM to highlight its established tactics while addressing what he described as a shift in national focus away from the group's original priorities.
"We set the stage, and now it's time for us to get back on it," the spokesman concluded.
