The economy is bad, and spending in Washington is only getting worse. We must use the upcoming election as a referendum on fiscal irresponsibility if we ever wish to put America back on the path to prosperity.
Does anybody else get the feeling that the inflation rate being reported, which was 8.54% in March – the highest rate of inflation since 1981 — is being underrepresented? Everywhere we go, prices are much higher than what they were just two years ago, and the mainstream media always seems to have an excuse. What is going on with inflation, and why is the media covering up for our government’s failed leadership?
Any reputable economist warned of record-high inflation the moment the government started printing money to help with easily avoidable financial burdens brought on to the people during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. People were forced out of work by their government, and the government swooped in to save the day.
Now, I would love to tell you that this all started with Joe Biden’s rogue regime because he is a failure as President and I think he should be removed immediately. However, this all started under America’s favorite President, Donald J. Trump.
The pandemic mixed with the upcoming elections sent the Republican Party into crisis mode. While Trump did everything in his power to speak out against the pandemic and radical government action, states were forcing businesses to close their doors for “two weeks to slow the spread.” As we all know, these two weeks have yet to cease, and many businesses were forced to close their doors indefinitely.
Trump did what any American politician does when there’s a crisis during an election year; he came to our rescue. On March 27th, 2020, he signed the CARES Act into law, which was the largest stimulus package in American history.
With a price tag of $1.8 trillion, the CARES Act with packed with questionable government spending, and allocated money to every qualifying American. The government didn’t stop there, unfortunately. Trump’s stimulus package opened the doors for record-high government spending by the Democrats, who gained control of the federal government during the 2020 elections.
As the pandemic continued to pack the wallets of the wealthy. Americans were once again running out of funds. Luckily for us, the government was prepared to step in. After assuming office, President Joe Biden announced his $1.9 trillion spending package – the American Rescue Plan – as if his administration was trying to one-up Trump.
Once the pandemic became a poor excuse for outrageous government spending, our leaders in Washington found new ways to spend our hard-earned incomes. There’s no denying that America’s infrastructure is crumbling. That’s what happens when the government monopolizes a market. However, our crumbling infrastructure did not warrant a $3 trillion dollar bill to address it, especially during a globally manufactured pandemic that cost people their livelihoods.
Their newest spending venture is the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Every week, Biden is promising billions of taxpayer money to help aid Ukraine. Every major corporation is virtue signaling its support for Ukraine in an attempt to convince the American people that we must go to war in order to protect Ukrainians.
We tend to forget that money is not infinite. You cannot print trillions of dollars and expect the value of the dollar to remain constant. The value of money comes from its finite quantity. The value of our dollar decreases every time we print more. Therefore, the cost of goods increases.
Every spending package seems to make the elites more wealthy, as many of us are being forced to work two or more jobs just to put fuel in our tanks to get to work. The mainstream media isn't being honest about skyrocketing inflation because, they too, are profiting off of our downfall.
We no longer have a majority in Washington working for us. While there are a select few in Congress who still have our backs, the establishment as a whole is finding new ways to exploit our labor for their financial gain.
We really can’t afford to keep electing these tax and spend establishment politicians on the left or the right. We need to elect people who understand what’s currently at stake. We’re not setting our children up for a bright future. We, as a country, are currently more than $30 trillion in debt, and spending doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
These upcoming elections are important. We can’t just elect people who talk the talk. Those people get elected and become part of the problem. As conservatives, we must do our research and vote for people who have a record of fiscal responsibility. We need people who understand what it’s like for Americans on the ground floor. This elite representation is destroying our country, and we must take America back before it’s too late.
